Appreciation

Our time on the Olympics and Paralympics projects has come to a close.

As the Overlay started tomove off site, cabins, generators, barriers and with staff leaving and going off to get involved with new projects it was a shame to see some of the last temporary roadways move on to be recycled, particularly as we had put so much effort into preparing the facilities for the tens of thousands of spectators who came and went without a hitch.

The scope of the project was indeed on a scale I have never seen before and I am so glad we were able to be a small part of the events. New contacts made, new skills learnt and experiences shared.

The country really got behind the games even more so as the ‘Nay Sayers’ and ‘doubters’ had their heads turned by the overwhelming public support spurred on by the performance of team GB and I am hoping this momentum will carry us all forward into the Autumn and beyond.

The experience certainly made you proud to be British.
